How to practice bold hero colors
Hero-style palettes are good for training contrast because the colors are strong enough to feel obvious. The mistake is assuming obvious means exact. A blue can be heroic and still be too bright, too purple, or too flat for the target.
Memorize the blue and red separately before touching the sliders. If you let the red influence the blue, the blue often becomes darker and more saturated than intended. Use the darker shade to check whether your lightness control is stable.
